Promundo

In 2014, Promundo's partnerships reached more than 20 countries and included new sectors, such as the involvement of men as allies in promoting gender equity in agricultural development and maternal, newborn and child health, as well as the involvement of men as allies in preventing child marriage and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, supporting early childhood development, and peace and security.

The MenCare global campaign, launched in 2012, reached 30 countries and was heralded as a successful model at the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in September 2014. The campaign is beginning to have an impact at the political level with new government initiatives to include men. as partners in maternal, newborn and child health and care provision.

In 2014, Promundo formalized its offices in Portugal and Rwanda and began working directly in the United States to engage men and boys to promote gender equity and prevent violence. Promundo co-organized the historic Second MenEngage Global Symposium on Men and Boys for Gender Justice in New Delhi, India, in November 2014. At this meeting, more than 1,100 participants from around the world – representing the rights of women, young , LGBT communities, and men's involvement organizations – affirmed commitment to a common cause, promoting equity and ending violence.
