Promundo
In 2005, the Promundo team traveled through Brazil, South America, South and Southeast Asia, Central America and various locations in Sub-Saharan Africa, with the aim of working with partner organizations in adapting and implementing the methodologies developed by the institution.
Among the activities carried out, Promundo, in collaboration with other organizations, created the MenEngage Alliance (with the aim of engaging men, young people and adults, in promoting gender equality); Initiated the formation of the National Early Childhood Network to promote the rights of children aged 0 to 6, including the right to participation; Member of the Management Committee of Rede Intercâmbios, a Latin American organization to reduce violence against women; Created the JPEG Project – Jovens pela Equidade de Gênero, a new partnership to promote gender equity through the engagement of young men and women in three communities in Rio de Janeiro; and developed the “Children, subjects of rights” Project (the program promotes the engagement of parents and guardians from various parts of Rio de Janeiro in raising their children without the use of physical and humiliating punishment).
