Preventing gender-based violence and violence against children

Promundo works to prevent gender-based violence and violence against children, through the transformation of social norms that perpetuate these practices. We are developing examples of good practice for engaging men in these topics, and we are contributing to conducting formative research and developing programs and campaigns that promote gender-related non-violent attitudes and behaviors. We use the education and health sectors as entry points to prevent violence against children, and promote positive education, together with their parents and guardians. We have also been testing new initiatives to reach men and boys during mega sports events, such as the World Cup, aiming to raise awareness about preventing violence and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
