The Responsible Paternity for Better Rio project aims to value paternal presence and encourage the construction of dignity and social justice.
The discussion workshops on fatherhood held by Promundo in the Rio Melhor Consórcio, through the PAC works in Complexo do Alemão, began in June 2010 and addressed themes within work previously developed by the consortium's social responsibility area, in the project entitled Brotherhood of Parents – Responsible Fatherhood for a Better River.
Promundo's mission in this second phase of the project is to stimulate the leadership and engagement of fathers who work in the locality and surrounding areas, for the creation and development of new groups on fatherhood. Furthermore, the current meetings aim to discuss topics such as care, affection, issues about sexuality, drug use, etc., and how these themes interact in the personal/professional relationships of these parents/workers.
