On May 6th and 7th, the Program P Implementation Seminar was held with health professionals in Porto Alegre/RS. Organized by Men's Health of the RS Health Department, the event took place at the Fernando Ferrari Administrative Center.
During the two days, the methodology of Program P – Manual for
the exercise of Fatherhood and Care, through practical workshops, presentation of material from the Community Campaign and the monitoring and evaluation process carried out by Promundo.
41 health professionals from across the state participated, including Community Agents, Social Workers, Dentists, Obstetric Nurses, Speech Therapists, Nutritionists, Psychologists, Nursing Technicians, as well as Regional Coordinators. Representatives from the Technical Area of Men's Health of the Ministry of Health were also present.
A commitment was made to hold meetings between the RS Men's Health Coordination and health unit managers to provide conditions and join efforts to be able to hold groups with pregnant women and their partners in the trained health units and, in general, promote inclusion of men in fatherhood and self-care. Promundo guaranteed support in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the initiatives.
