Promundo launches methodologies for involving professionals in promoting gender equality

Promundo will launch on October 18th, starting at 6pm, at CEDIM, two new methodologies that contribute to the involvement of health and education professionals to promote gender equality with adolescents and young people.

The Portal for Gender Equity in Schools (PEGE) is a virtual environment that aims to offer professionals who work in schools with adolescents and young people tools for reflection and carrying out actions to promote gender equity. Because the Portal is a distance learning platform, its use allows the democratization of knowledge and the improvement of training for education professionals from different parts of the country, in an equitable manner. The portal also intends to be a virtual reference space for consultation and access to materials and bibliographies related to gender, sexuality and sexual rights and reproductive rights, violence prevention, pregnancy, motherhood and fatherhood.

The game “Em Seu Lugar” aims to promote reflection by professionals in the areas of education and health about doubts, emotions and fears that exist in the imagination of adolescents and young people. The game is made up of stories about six different characters, all teenagers, and allows participants to take the place of these teenagers and experience situations of greater or lesser vulnerability of this population in relation to their rights. The stories are based on real experiences.

At the event, the international director of Promundo will also present an overview of the 10 years of Programs H and M. Silvya Cavasin, from Instituto Ecos, will talk about teacher training in sexuality education: context and mobilization to influence public policies. At 8 pm, a cocktail will be offered to guests.
