Through sponsorship from Petrobras, Promundo will hold, from March onwards, awareness-raising workshops on Gender, Sexuality and Health in 13 Brazilian states. The purpose of the workshops is to enable key actors from communities in 36 municipalities to promote the questioning of gender norms that interfere with the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young people. The workshops will involve more than two thousand people, including teachers and other education professionals, health agents, community leaders and teenagers.
In addition to learning about tools and activities for working on topics such as gender, sexuality and violence, workshop participants will prepare action plans to be developed later in order to contribute to the promotion of gender equity and sexual health and reproductive health of adolescents and young people in their communities.
The most successful experiences, evaluated by the Promundo team, will be recorded at the end of the project in a notebook of good practices, which will be distributed to all participants and partner organizations, in order to facilitate the exchange of experiences about projects to promote gender equality among young people and inspire other actions.
