On June 25, Promundo and CARE-Rwanda launched the “Journeys of Transformation” training manual, the result of an action research project to engage men as partners in the economic empowerment of women in Rwanda , in Africa.
Results from the action research pilot indicate that involving men in community activities and discussions, including activities with their partners, led to significant improvements in family income, greater participation by men in caregiving tasks, and greater negotiation between couples. These discussions generated great benefits compared to financial training activities carried out exclusively with women.
