For the first time, Instituto Doar and ÉPOCA evaluated 1,560 organizations and recognized the best management and transparency practices in the Third Sector
Instituto Promundo was selected for the guide to the 100 Best NGOs in Brazil in 2017, organized by Instituto Doar and ÉPOCA. This was the first edition of the list, which aims to recognize good management practices and transparency in the Third Sector and encourage the culture of donation in Brazil. In total, 1,560 organizations signed up. Of these, 527 applications were validated and 150 were pre-selected by an executive committee based on performance.
Composed of representatives from ÉPOCA, Instituto Doar and the Center for Studies in Public Administration and Government of Fundação Getúlio Vargas, the judging committee evaluated five general principles: cause and strategy, representation and responsibility, management and planning, financing and communication strategy and accountability. The awards ceremony took place on the night of Monday, August 7th, at Espaço Sapato Laranja, in São Paulo.
“Receiving this recognition at such a delicate moment in our country makes us sure that we are on the right path. This was one of the gifts for Instituto Promundo's 20th anniversary, which just concluded in June. Here’s to 20 more awards and more awards like this.”, says Sandra Vale, Management and Institutional Development consultant at Instituto Promundo.
