Health Unit is trained to involve men in the health service

On September 30th, Promundo promoted a conversation about “Parenthood and Care in the Health Unit” with employees of CMS Ernani Agrícola, in Santa Teresa. The meeting discussed good practices for involving and welcoming men in the health unit and the activities of Program P. Program P is a manual whose methodology developed by Promundo seeks to present health professionals and caregivers with ways to involve men in fatherhood, in care and promotion of their health and maternal and child health.

“The meeting was cool because it was attended by several employees from the health unit: from health agents, doctors, security and administrative staff”, says Marco Aurélio Martins, Executive Coordinator of Promundo.

As a result of the meeting, the group proposed holding an event called Men's Day, in which a series of exams will be available for men and will end with a dance for men to have fun with their partners.

The action is scheduled for November, the month in which the Blue November campaign takes place, an initiative carried out by several entities in November aimed at society and men on the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of prostate cancer and other male diseases.
