Father/Partner Prenatal on the agenda

On the 13th and 14th of March 2022, at the invitation of the Programmatic Area Health coordination, in Santa Cruz, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Promundo, represented by Luciano Ramos, developed 16 hours of training for technical teams and community health agents Cheers to training in Paternity and Care, with a focus on the involvement of parents from pregnancy to development in the first years of a child's life. The methodology of the Father/Partner Pre-Natal Program associated with Program P were the instruments used in the training process of over 50 professionals over the two days.

Professionals were able to get closer to methodologies that have already been tested and verified their effectiveness, as well as experience some activities. For some professionals, this was their first contact with the methodologies, for others it was a moment to reinforce their understanding of them. The following week, some teams will be able to put what they have learned into practice. This has been a very important moment for the programmatic area impacted by the training. The lessons learned are being put into practice and improved in everyday life. It is very powerful to see parents taking ownership of the place of care since pregnancy and strengthening bonds with their babies.

Promundo is a partner with the Ministry of Health in creating the Partner Pre-Natal Program and has been developing the paternity and care methodology throughout Brazil and other countries for some years.
