Promundo

Created based on research carried out by Promundo and the Noos Institute, in three locations in the city of Rio de Janeiro, this video is an important instrument to be used in promoting reflections and discussions about intra-family violence.

Pedro, without a formal job, starts to earn less than his wife, Kelly, and as a result he feels humiliated and unhappy. One day, because of stress and constant conflicts, Pedro almost resorts to physical violence against Kelly. At this moment, he has a vision of a boy that leads him to rethink his life and the way he learned to be a man. Based on Pedro's story, it is possible to deepen the discussion about the way men are socialized, demystify the idea that men's violence against women is linked to unemployment and alcohol consumption and, mainly, seek non-violent alternatives to the resolution of family conflicts.
