Promundo

Welcome to the Partner's EAD Masculinities, Fatherhood & Pre-Natal course!

With the aim of qualifying primary care health professionals on men's health, following the guidelines of the Partner's Pre-Natal Guide for health professionals, the course is the result of Technical Cooperation (ACT) between the Ministry of Health and the Promundo Institute .

Distance training aims to provide health workers with information for an approach that encourages the involvement of men in the exercise of fatherhood, problematizing masculinity standards, preventing violence and promoting gender equality.

On this journey together with us, you health professionals, men and families from all over Brazil, will be able to follow, throughout 5 modules, training that seeks to provide new tools to introduce men into the health system, in order to take care of their health preventively, which is reflected in physical and mental well-being and in the maintenance of bonds and social transformations in all the circles to which this individual belongs.

In module I, we will talk about Gender and Masculinities. We bring a conceptual approach to the topic, presenting the implications of rigid gender norms in the construction of what it means to be a man and the way in which this construction is reflected in the lives of men and society as a whole.

Going through module II, we deal with the different forms of Paternity and Fatherhood and how they are connected by common experience and differentiate by the diversity of experiences.

In module III, the focus is to deepen the debate on Partner Prenatal Care and Men's Health, with guidance for health professionals on the best practices for caring for men and their families.

Module IV brings an action plan for working with men, encouraging awareness and awareness about the importance of their involvement with health and care.

And, finally, we have an extra module on Fatherhood and Masculinity, from the perspective of Traditional Communities.

We hope you have a good learning journey and that you can apply all the knowledge acquired here, in addition to that already present in your daily professional health routine and other relationships with men.
